A few words about one of the most beautiful series I've ever read.
The Infernal Devices.
The fact, that the book is written mainly for young adults can succesfully scare people off, and yet - I can't imagine not having read the books.
Kilka słów o jednej z najpiękniejszej książkowej serii, jaką w życiu czytałam.
The Infernal Devices.
Fakt, że ksiązka jest przeznaczona głównie dla 'młodych dorosłych' może z powodzeniem odstraszać, jednak teraz nie mogę sobie wyobrazić nie-przeczytania tych książek.
CLOCKWORK PRINCESS.
Only a week after the official premiere in the US and UK, I managed to bring that wonderful book home. Thankfully I had the whole spring break to go through 600 pages of pure emotions. Cassandra Clare has created a world of Shadowhunters, Demons, Angels, and other creatures, full of details that made you loose yourself in the plot.
Although most of the readers are girls, and one can say, that love between the warriors is the main subject, it's hasn't been only for love, why I love the book. :)
The author brought to us lots of different characters, from whom we can learn different things. And so:
Tessa taught us to fight for what we believe.
Will taught us, that to love and to be loved.
Jem taught us to greet, and to say goodbye.
Cecily taught us to be brave.
Gabriel taught us to vaule our family.
Gideon taught us to be calm.
Sophie taught us, that pretty face is not the most important thing, and it's the mind and the soul that matter.
Charlotte taught us not to be afraid to take risks.
Henry taught us to be creative, and think out of the box.
Once I've finished the books ( actually after finished crying after the book, which is quite a difference, because that'll be the following day), I was grateful to be a teenager right now, as I can't imagine being too old, or too young for them. And grateful, that I know English enough (and that I am not patient enough to wait till june, when polish version is being published) to read it in the original version. Now I can tell the difference between the original and the translation, which SUCKS. i'll never buy that shallow, polish version of the story. GOD, who's paying the translators, with all the respect. I know, rebuilding the atmophere of the original is hard, but...
I remember the day, when The Book arrived. ( which is not that hard, as it was a week ago). I was holding it. Watching. reading the "thank" parts. I couldn't force myself to start reading. I knew, once I'll finish it, the whole story will end. I didn't know how would I handle myself knowing the ending. I knew, I will suffer, but I'll be happy about it!
For those who have read the book. Remember the moment, when you have turned the last page of the last chapter, to the epilogue? Everybody was happy, everything was alright. Will and Cecily, reunited with their family. Everything vanished the following second, while turning that bloody page! It was the most painful ending to a series I have EVER seen, read, and yet - the most beautiful.
I LOVE YOU CASSANDRA CLARE, and I hate you at the same time.
I recommend the series: The Infernal Devices, and even earlier: The Mortal Instruments. It's worth every second and every penny!
Okay, I admit it. I fell deeply in love with a fictional character AGAIN. And His name is Herondale. AGAIN.
